This time last year...
I can't look back.
I have to look forward.

I am not sad anymore, just angry. I wake up angry, I go to sleep angry, I sit around angry. Angry knowing that the person I loved so much abandoned me and without so much as an apology for ignoring me for three STRAIGHT weeks told me was tired of it all and giving up.
Edit: Still mad. It is taking ALL THE WILL POWER WITHIN ME to not call him up and tell him to fuck off.

Oh hey I guess I should say:
www.alphabetocean.com
That is where I have been blogging about Japan! I am still keeping LJ though because where else can I bitch about things that only matter to myself and my immediate friend list.
Yeah!

This is the last journal entry I will write from my house in probably the next year. :(

Guys this has been the worst week by far because a friend, or rather someone I guess I wrongly considered was still my friend, just messaged me, proceeded to berate me for never seeing him, questioned me about what I feel friendship means, then declared an end to our friendship in the half an hour or so this conversation happened. Judge, jury, and executioner all in one!
The best day of this week was Friday because my grandmother flew out to surprise me and I had my going away bonanza and while I was sad it was so great to see my family and friends and tell them how lucky I was to have them in my life. They also made me a wish tree, which is common in Japan and for those who don't know it is where you write wishes for a person on a piece of paper and tie it to a tree. I am going to take them all to Japan with me. Friday was also Batman day which was a fantastic movie that I loved and imax is awesome and so was being in AC with the guys.
Tomorrow is: Philly
Tuesday is: Possibly NB (I gotta try)
Wednesday is: Doctor/shopping
Thursday is: the last day on earth
Friday is: NY orientation
Saturday is : Departure day

Found out where I am going in Japan:

It is called Kumamoto-ken. Ken is pretty much the equivalent of state, so I believe I will be working for the prefectural board of education in senior high schools. Neat! I have been reading up on the area all afternoon and what I was able to find is that it is really hot(think 90+), they have a castle, a bunch of nice nature things, and the local delicacy is raw horse meat.
It should be interesting, to say the least.

Ok so, I've kinda been alluding to my future plans here and there but haven't come out and said anything yet because I wanted to be 100% on the confirmation and details, but I just can't keep it a secret any longer!
First off, I am graduating this week. This is a really big thing for me because I am finishing up my degree in three years instead of the usual four. When I first got to college I hated it and made up my mind then to power through and finish as soon as possible since transferring means losing a lot of credits. Since that point, I've come to really like it here, but I wanted to stick to my goal if only for the sake of saving myself 20k for that skipped 4th year. I've earned my B.A. in Linguistics and English and I am graduating cum laude (with honors) which for my field is a GPA of 3.5+.
Exciting! But there is more fun news on the horizon. After a year of applications, interviews, and other hoops, I was accepted to the JET (Japan Exchange Teaching) program, which means they are paying me to go to Japan and teach English for one full year. I don't know where I'll be stationed yet (I find out in a few weeks), but I asked for Okinawa (southern islands - think Hawaii) so hopefully that comes through. I leave on July 26th of this year.
But yeah, that's the haps. Conley flies in Wednesday to hang out for a week. Can't wait!

Finished my infant and child development class. Took the final last night and I think I aced it. Tonight will be studying for Language Acquisition and Semantics.
I've been making post-creations, which is creating something, then putting it on a postcard and sending it off. My friend Andy introduced me to it. I did one for him a few months ago but last night a bunch of got together and made more of them to critique and send out. It's a lot of fun because there are no limits to what you can create or how complex it simple it should be. I sent out the one I made last night before I remembered to scan it, but I scanned the other two that I made and sent out at work today:
( art! )
If you are interested in joining the project, send me a postcard! I will send you one back.
I just found out today that my aunt who is in the air force is going to be stationed in Japan for the next year. Pretty neat, eh? I guess things are coming together.

Professor is on my case for not "hearing from me by now". YOU'RE THE ONE WHO DOESN'T WANT TO SET DEADLINES, GUY. I was going to stay up and do it all tonight but my mind can't concentrate so I am going to go to bed and the work at work tomorrow. My mind is now spinning with that, if he thinks I'm lazy, how to get groceries this week because I really am out of food, rent money, if I really will have time for the gym tomorrow and I hope I do because I made a gym date, language acquisition extra credit papers, WH brush up, I can only write myself so many post-its.
The positive is that I did my extra credit presentation for infant and child development and that professor really seemed to like it. He told me to email him for the grade right after I was done so I guess that means I did well.
Bought my cap and gown today. Saw a dean because my diploma application is still pending and it had me worried and she said all I have to do is pass my classes and I'll be fine. She congratulated me on the JET program and said it was highly competitive (I am told this often but can not find the concrete facts to back it up) and asked me to send her a postcard. Five more days of classes left.

In an awesome move by fate all three of my classes were canceled today, allowing me the time to finish my vowel assignment I've been stressing over. I can get done all the number crunching today and maybe even have it set up into charts and emailed by tonight, which means that is one less huge thing to worry about. I also finished my JET paperwork and it is in the mail, so that is one less thing to worry about. I went home this weekend and helped out and hung out with my mom and it was nice to relax. I can't wait to be home for the summer and out of school...and then off to Japan. It still seems so crazy! I find out in May where my placement will be. Pretty exciting.
Left to do:
Learn Lines/Be Off Book (will be done by this week since we open on Friday har har)
CAP new board stuff (probably will do this tomorrow morning at work)
Work on email class for work (must be done tonight/tomorrow at work since I have to teach it tomorrow night!)
Start Lang. Acq. Extra Credit (all five must be done by Monday, so I guess in total it will be ten pages of writing, since it has to be 2x pages per article reviewed)
Infant and Child Dev. Extra Credit (for Wednesday, need to pick a topic and talk about it for 3-5 minutes)

Minus the Bear tonight.
Friday: Saw Zipperface, got ridiculously drunk, ate breakfast ate 4am, met new friends.
Saturday: Hangover
Sunday: WH Rehearsal
I got a high C on my cognition midterm (one point away from a B). I barely studied so I guess it's good for pretty much going in blind. I don't even care. I took my Lang. Acq. midterm the other day so I'm done until finals. Except for those vowel measurements that are due on Friday that I am going to wait until the last minute to do and kill myself Thursday to get it all done. This weekend I am going to see Zipperface again, NEO on Sunday, and writing my cognition paper.
I finally heard back from JET. I leave for Japan on the 26th of July.

I got a 95 on my infant and child development exam. That's cool. Cognition is in five hours. Semantics homework has been done. We had a half hour discussion on the parameters of "few" vs. "a few" and the difference between them. Still no solid answer or connotations of either, so it'll carry over onto the next lecture. Yes, this is what I go to school for.
April 2nd. Still no Japan decision.
